In today’s corner I want to share my insight as a helping professional in the midst of this “new normal way of our lives.”
One of my own personal sentiments is I want to achieve much, yet sometimes it may come as a shock that being preoccupied with so much activities in behalf of others, it may reflect back more of the need for fulfilment and recognition.
Clearly, there is nothing wrong with our personal desire to be helpful, but our attempts to prove something becomes the barometer by which we check out our own personal ratings.
When we do this, our desire to be of service leads to conflict with our own personal agenda.
The solution is never attempt to give more than what we can just to make ourselves feel better.
For we will be doing not simply what is expected of us, but what our minds and hearts truly desires.
A service is really truly what it is for others and not doing things to please ourselves.
