Going over and beyond, the heart of any community is the family which is the basic unit of society, our context of friends from the school, our playmates and our co workers.
They are the ones outside of ourselves which provide us with stimulus, encouragement and challenges.
It is also a place where we can serve and be served as well and grow in our giftedness and responsibility.
However, sometimes we can also feel their pressure on us of their expectations.
Comments like... “She has creative abilities... maybe she could...”
Or he has great organizational skills..lets ask him to....”
Or pointedly in the family.. “He is the strongest member of our family.. we can look up for him to guide us...”
There is nothing wrong in knowing our strong points, there is nothing wrong if we know that we can do it and be of service to others.
There is something wrong if people would put us inside a box without even being acknowledged that we also have our own priorities or concerns.
Let us check ourselves as well perhaps we have become prisoners of other peoples expectations, instead of being just “ME”
We need to be conscious and be on guard of not being entirely immersed with concerns and issues of our time but continue to grow beyond the expectations of others.
